Meet our Cooking Demo Chefs
Gillian Dinh
Top 10 finalist on MasterChef Australia 2024, Gillian Dinh brings bold flavours, heartfelt storytelling, and creative flair to every dish she serves. Rooted in a rich cultural heritage, with Vietnamese influence from her Dad and Italian soul from her Mum, Gill’s food is a love language passed down through generations.
Based in Wollongong, Gill is the founder and artist of The Marker, a lettering, signwriting and design studio she’s run for over a decade. Following her MasterChef journey, she’s now cooking part-time at a local favourite K.Malu Kitchen and Bar, while sharing recipes online, teaching hands-on workshops, and hosting pop-up restaurant events that blend her two creative passions: art and food.
Gill’s cooking celebrates the stories behind the plate — nostalgic family favourites, passed-down techniques, and big, punchy flavours, all fuelled by memories of meals made with her late Nonna and Dad, as well as her Mum. Gill brings heart, hustle, and generosity to the kitchen.
Whether she’s plating up or painting a wall, Gill’s mission is the same: to create meaningful moments that connect people and linger long after the experience.
