Savour the Flavour is a community event and welcomes everyone. We are always working on ways to improve our Festival and the experience for all, including our guests with disabilities and limited mobility.
Savour the Flavour is held at Richmond Oval and Richmond Park. The venue is fully navigable for people with mobility disabilities. The venue consists of footpaths and natural mixed terrain. During peak periods the festival can be very crowded.

- TOILETS: The accessible amenities are accessible port-a-loo’s and are basic.
- PARKING: We have a designated accessible parking area at Richmond Park carpark access via March Street. This parking area is automatically available for any vehicle bearing a standard Disability Parking Permit.
- The accessible parking area will be displayed on the festival map when available.
- QUIET SPACE: There will be a quiet space available for visitors who need some time out space from the crowds.
- PARENTS ROOM: We’ll have a dedicated Parents’ Room available onsite for your convenience.
- Announcements will be made throughout the festival, directing people to key areas of interest and reminding them of our amenities. To aid with wayfinding, A event map will be displayed at the entry of the event also available at the Council tent.

Disability Inclusion Action Plan
Hawkesbury City Council is committed to fostering a community that is inclusive for all people who live, work, and visit our region. This means ensuring all people with disabilities and diverse needs have every opportunity to fully connect, participate and enjoy the community, social and business life of the Hawkesbury region.
As part of this commitment, Council has developed the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2023-2026. A number of the principals contained within the Plan help guide the Events team to create more accessible and inclusive events.

Safety
Lost Person
A lost person may be a child or a vulnerable individual without an accompanying adult. If you find someone who is lost, please inform the nearest security personnel or event staff member, or go to our Council information stall.
If you are an adult looking for a missing child or vulnerable individual, please stay at their last known location and inform event staff, security personnel, police, or Council staff at the Information Stall if you are nearby.
First Aid
First aid stalls is located throughout the event.
To ensure that they are easily found, first aid signage will be displayed in front of the stall.
A Event map will be displayed at the event entry.
Inclement Weather
In the event of adverse weather conditions, announcements will be made to remind all attendees to seek shelter, wear appropriate clothing, and apply sunscreen.
Hawkesbury City Council events team will monitor the weather leading up to the event and will notify the public of any updates via the Savour the Flavour website and Hawkesbury City Council and Hawkesbury Events social media pages.
Sustainability
Eco-friendly ways to get to the festival
- Ride your bike.
- Catch the free shuttle bus. Plan your trip.
- Walk. Get your steps up and walk to the event!
Single use plastics
Stallholders are banned from distributing single-use plastic bags, bottles, straws, cutlery, food packaging and balloons. If possible, bring along your own reusable bags, cutlery, and cups to help reduce waste.
Savour the Flavour cups will be available at the Council tent.
Bring along your refillable drink bottle.
Bin Station
Bin stations will be located throughout the event space, each clearly marked to indicate its intended use.
